(Star Catcher), located in Jacksonville, FL, </strong>has an opportunity for a Spacecraft ADCS Engineer to support the development of space-to-space power beaming spacecraft and the Star Catcher Network, its orbital power grid. This role will be responsible for the design, development, and operation of spacecraft, satellites, and other space-related ADCS systems. This includes the systems integration, analysis and simulation, project management, testing and quality assurance, mission operations, and regulatory compliance and safety of space-related designs.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the spacecraft ADCS subsystem design.</li> <li>Design and implement guidance & control algorithms in an embedded software environment.</li> <li>Define requirements for ADCS subsystem.</li> <li>Guide GNC hardware procurement.</li> <li>Guide the development of ADCS component emulators in integrated modeling environments.</li> <li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to validate hardware systems.</li> <li>Design the ADCS verification and validation approach for the spacecraft including environmental and acceptance testing.</li> <li>Ensure documentation is accurate and complies with company standards.</li> <li>Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets related to aerospace engineering tasks.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Ideal Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related field</li> <li>At least five years of experience designing, analyzing and building software in an aerospace environment or other relevant industry experience.</li> <li>Software skills in C, C++.</li> <li>Knowledge of control and optimization theory.</li> <li>Expertise in numerical programming environments (Python, MATLAB,etc.).</li> <li>Familiarity with ADCS design and simulation for spacecraft systems.</li> <li>Experience running dynamic simulations for spacecraft.</li> <li>Proven track record in the successful design and development of software systems for either terrestrial or satellite applications.</li> <li>Creative problem-solving skills, with the capability to develop innovative solutions to advanced engineering challenges.</li> <li>Strong understanding of the unique requirements and challenges associated with aerospace systems for space missions.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Expertise in advanced ADCS design and integration techniques.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to drive innovation in ADCS design and implementation, contributing to the development of cutting-edge space technologies.</li> <li>Familiarity with space industry regulations, safety standards relevant to space missions and operations.</li> <li>Effective communication skills with the ability to interface with the team and organization and prioritize tasks, projects, and personnel from a variety of disciplines.</li> <li>Experience with spacecraft flight operations.</li> <li>Hands-on experience building test setups for ADCS components.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Help us deploy and scale space infrastructure that will drive our utilization of space forward!
