Moment Energy repurposes electric vehicle battery packs into UL-certified, modular grid-scale energy storage systems.
<div class="content-intro"><p><strong>About Moment Energy</strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Independent energy is here. Help us deploy it.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Energy should be free. Free from aging grids, fragile supply chains, and unnecessary extraction. At Moment Energy, we’re building a world where clean power is abundant, affordable, and uninterrupted for everyone.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The world doesn’t need another promise about energy; it needs proof that a freer future is possible. Moment Energy is the pragmatic liberator of power, the only company certified to turn the largest untapped energy supply into independent energy.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now is the moment. While the industry scraps millions of batteries with decades of life left, we put them to work by repurposing large-format batteries into advanced battery energy storage systems that deliver real-world impact.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We were told second-life batteries would never be safe enough or scalable enough. We didn’t argue, we engineered the solution. Today, Moment Energy delivers 5x the energy density and holds the certifications required to deploy energy independence at scale.</span></p> <p><strong>Now is the moment. Join us.</strong></p></div><p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We are seeking a </span><strong>Software Engineering Co-op</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will support the development of the cloud platform that powers our battery management systems and energy storage products.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will work on both front-end and back-end development while collaborating with engineers across hardware and software teams. This is a great opportunity for a student who wants to gain hands-on experience building scalable software systems for real-world energy infrastructure.</span></p> <p><strong>Responsibilities and Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop front-end web interfaces for the battery management system (BMS) cloud portal</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Contribute to backend API development and system architecture</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Design and implement database schemas to support platform functionality</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Help integrate energy storage hardware with cloud services and IoT infrastructure</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop unit tests and integration tests to ensure system reliability and stability</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and reusability</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Support development of the IoT platform for remote battery monitoring and control</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Assist with software testing, debugging, and performance improvements</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Collaborate with engineers across hardware and software teams to support product development</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>The Student we’re looking for:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong preference for students with Design Team or previous co-op experience</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with modern web development frameworks and tools</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Familiarity with backend development and API design</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Basic understanding of databases and data modeling</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Interest in cloud platforms, IoT systems, and connected hardware</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with version control systems such as Git</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong problem-solving and analytical skills</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>The Experience You’ll Gain:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hands-on experience developing software for real-world energy infrastructure</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Exposure to cloud platforms, IoT systems, and hardware-software integration</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mentorship from experienced software and systems engineers</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The opportunity to contribute to technology supporting the clean energy transition</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Moment Energy Co-op Benefits Highlights</strong></p> <p><strong>Paid Time Off: <span style="font-weight: 400;">Co-op’s receive three paid days off per term</span></strong></p> <p><strong>Vibrant Culture & Perks: </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">Open and collaborative office culture, frequent company socials and wellness programs (weekly yoga and fitness center), and free EV charging on-site.</span></p> <p> </p><div class="content-concl
