Amca rapidly develops and manufactures critical aerospace and defense components by integrating engineering, qualification testing, technical data, and certified manufacturing into a single platform.

Amca is building America’s new industrial base. Since the 1990s, our ability to build new aviation and military systems and maintain the ones we already have has eroded. Today, the gap between what the nation needs to produce and what it is capable of producing is the largest it has been in generations.

To help close that gap, Amca rapidly develops and manufactures new critical components and subsystems required to build and sustain the planes, military vehicles, and core infrastructure America needs. Today, we operate seven factories nationwide, including our advanced prototyping and testing headquarters in El Segundo, and deliver avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms such as the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, A321, Mk-48, and M1 Abrams.

Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is the technical backbone of our growth and bid process. You will own bill of materials (BOM) costing, run comparative analysis across designs and suppliers, and serve as the technical point of contact for post-award execution. You will read engineering drawings, interpret requirements, build out BOMs, and produce CAD as needed to support feasibility and cost work. You do not need to be a design engineer. What matters is that you can take a set of drawings and requirements, understand what it takes to build the hardware, and translate that into accurate cost and a sound technical recommendation.

Responsibilities

Own BOM development and costing for incoming opportunities.

Break down drawings and requirements into a complete, accurate BOM.

Build and refine should-cost models and pricing inputs to support competitive, margin-accurate bids.

Run comparative analysis across design approaches, materials, processes, and suppliers to identify the lowest-risk, lowest-cost path to build.

Serve as the technical point of contact for post-award execution, supporting engineering change evaluations, production planning, and quality resolution.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and military and aerospace specifications to assess manufacturability and fit with Amca factory capabilities.

Produce CAD as needed to support costing, feasibility, and technical analysis.

Make go/no-go recommendations based on technical feasibility, capacity, risk, and strategic fit.

Collaborate with factory engineering and manufacturing teams to validate production approaches, lead times, and tooling requirements before bid submission.

Act as the technical bridge between business operations and Amca's factory engineering and production teams.

Build and maintain a working knowledge map of Amca factory capabilities, including equipment, certifications, materials expertise, and capacity constraints.

Identify capability gaps and recommend capital investments or supplier partnerships to close them.

Stay current on relevant industry standards (AS9100, NADCAP, MIL-SPEC), manufacturing technology, and DLA procurement policy.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical discipline.

3+ years in a full-time technical engineering role in aerospace, defense, or a similar hardware industry.
