Vice President, Hardware Engineering Position Summary At Miovision, we are engineering the physical foundation of smart transportation, and we are looking for a visionary Vice President of Hardware Engineering to take the wheel during a pivotal growth inflection. Leading a 40-person multi-disciplinary organization, you will act as the master traffic controller for our entire hardware division—directing strategy, roadmaps, delivery, quality, and budget. Your mission is to execute on three parallel lanes without hitting a bottleneck: ensuring stability in predictable delivery, accelerating scalability as manufacturing volume ramps up, and driving strategic innovation to keep us miles ahead of the market. As the executive voice of hardware, you will ensure our physical products merge seamlessly with our software capabilities, bypassing gridlock and arriving to customers as a complete, market-leading offering. If you are ready to accelerate our hardware vision and keep our next-generation technology cruising in the fast lane, green means go! Objectives and Responsibilities: - Own hardware strategy, the multi-year roadmap, and the functional budget; represent hardware on the executive team. - Stability: hold predictable, high-quality delivery across multiple concurrent programs, protecting critical launch, certification, and volume commitments. - Scalability: scale the organization, operating model, and delivery capability as deployment volume ramps, growing throughput without sacrificing quality. - Strategic innovation: keep the multi-year roadmap ahead of the market and aligned to Miovision's growth and market-expansion goals. - Set priorities and make cross-program trade-off decisions; serve as the final escalation point for the function. - Own delivery outcomes (on time, at quality, at volume) across all programs, with day-to-day delivery cadence run through the Technical Program Manager. - Partner with the Sr. Director, Hardware Architecture & Advanced Development on system architecture, next-generation platforms, and horizon-two bets. - Partner with Product and Software Engineering to align roadmaps so hardware launches ship with the software and go-to-market they depend on. - Partner with Manufacturing Operations on NPI, supplier readiness, and the volume ramp; contract-manufacturer and manufacturing ownership sits with Manufacturing Operations. - Champion AI-enabled ways of working across hardware (design and verification, program management, and BOM and cost analysis) so the team delivers more per head as it scales. - Develop, retain, and succession-plan senior leaders; own the health of both the management and principal IC career tracks. - Establish a consistent operating rhythm: program reviews, communication cadence, and delivery metrics. - Own hardware talent strategy: hiring, leveling, and org design as the team scales. The Ideal Profile: - You bring extensive experience in hardware product development, where you've also spent time successfully leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams (electrical, firmware, mechanical, quality). - You have a proven track record of leading a hardware organization through a significant business growth phase or massive volume inflection. - You have successfully shipped complex, connected hardware through full New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles directly into high-volume production, including deep experience managing CMs and ODMs. - You remain highly decisive when faced with ambiguity and wield exceptional executive communication skills to influence cross-functional stakeholders from the engineering floor to the boardroom. - You are a passionate developer of senior leaders, adept at building resilient organizational structures and mapping out both management and principal individual contributor career tracks. - You possess strong fluency and genuine excitement for applying modern AI tools to optimize and accelerate hardware engineering workflows. Your Rewards & Well-being: We invest in our team with benefits designed for modern life and true work-life balance. - Comprehensive Coverage: Your well-being is covered from day one with comprehensive health benefits, 24/7 virtual healthcare access, and dedicated wellness programs. - Financial Future: Build for tomorrow with our RRSP/401K Matching Plan and share in the company's success through our Variable Incentive Plan. - Time to Recharge: Truly unplug with our unique Mio-Days and flexible vacation policy. - Work & Life Support: We support you with flexible work options, an internet subsidy, a remote work allowance, and enhanced leave for new parents.
