Working across platforms including HubSpot, NetSuite, DealHub, Avalara, and our Drupal-based applications, this role helps transform business needs into scalable technology solutions.</p> <p><strong>Success in this role means </strong>delivering reliable internal applications, thoughtful automations, and well-designed integrations that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and enable teams to work more efficiently while maintaining security, scalability, and long-term maintainability.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a curious, collaborative, and solutions-oriented Software Developer to design, build, and support the internal applications, integrations, and automations that power Really Great Reading's business operations. This role combines full-stack software development with systems integration, business process automation, and AI-assisted development to create practical solutions that improve how our teams work every day.</p> <p>The ideal candidate enjoys solving operational challenges through technology, is comfortable working across both front-end and back-end development, and thrives in a collaborative environment where business needs are translated into scalable software solutions. This individual will partner closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, recommend improvements, and deliver tools that simplify workflows, connect systems, and support long-term operational success. While this is a fully remote position, we have a strong preference for candidates who reside in Quebec.</p> <p>You'll work across a diverse technology ecosystem that includes Python, React, HubSpot, NetSuite, DealHub, Avalara, Drupal (PHP), PostgreSQL, Git, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Gemini. While our customer-facing platform is built primarily on Python and React, our internal tools ecosystem continues to evolve, giving you the opportunity to influence the technologies, integrations, and automation strategies that support business operations across the organization.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <p><strong>Internal Application Development</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain internal applications, dashboards, reporting solutions, process automations, and administrative tools.</li> <li>Build scalable solutions that improve internal workflows and reduce manual effort.</li> <li>Gather requirements from business stakeholders, recommend practical solutions, and deliver iterative improvements based on user feedback.</li> <li>Continuously improve existing applications to support evolving business needs.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Systems Integration & Automation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain integrations across HubSpot, NetSuite, DealHub, Avalara, and Drupal-based websites and applications.</li> <li>Develop and support integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and related technologies.</li> <li>Ensure reliable data flow and system interoperability across business platforms.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues while maintaining data integrity.</li> </ul> <p><strong>AI & Intelligent Automation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Gemini, or equivalent technologies to accelerate software development.</li> <li>Design, build, and maintain AI-powered agents and automations that improve internal business processes.</li> <li>Evaluate opportunities to apply AI responsibly, balancing innovation with reliability, security, and data privacy.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Collaboration & Development Excellence</strong></p> <ul> <li>Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following established development best practices.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into working software solutions.</li> <li>Work independently in a fully remote environment while contributing effectively to team initiatives.</li> <li>Participate in ongoing improvements to development practices, architecture, and internal tooling. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>3-5 years of professional software development experience.</li> <li>Experience designing and developing full-stack web applications and system integrations.</li> <li>Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and building AI-powered agents or automations (Claude Code, Gemini, or equivalent).</li> <li>Experience integrating third-party syste
