<p>We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team and help us raise the bar on software quality across a global HR and payroll platform, a complex, distributed B2B SaaS platform. You will work closely with product owners from the earliest stages of development, own automation coverage across frontend, backend, and microservice boundaries, and play a hands-on role in evolving our testing infrastructure.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and maintain automated E2E test suites covering UI, API, and third-party integration points.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Champion shift-left practices by embedding in sprint planning, story refinement, and design reviews to catch quality risks early.</li> <li>Own regression testing, exploratory testing, and production validation across critical product workflows.</li> <li>Write type-safe, schema-validated test code using TypeScript and Zod to minimize false positives and improve maintainability.</li> <li>Build and maintain E2E and component tests with Playwright/Cypress, covering critical user flows and edge cases.</li> <li>Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable feedback to developers.</li> <li>Design and execute API test coverage using Postman and REST-assured.</li> <li>Test event-driven and asynchronous workflows across microservice boundaries.</li> <li>Identify gaps in coverage, prioritize them against risk, and drive resolution with a pragmatic mindset.</li> <li>Collaborate in a QA team, contributing to shared standards, tooling decisions, and documentation.</li> <li>Identify, track, and triage bugs using tools like Jira and Xray.</li> <li>Mentor engineers on testability and release confidence.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You'll Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>4+ years of hands-on test automation experience in production software environments.</li> <li>Strong TypeScript skills: you write test code that is clean, readable, and easy to extend.</li> <li>Solid experience with Playwright or Cypress for E2E, both UI and API testing.</li> <li>Familiarity with Zod or other runtime schema-validation libraries.</li> <li>Hands-on expertise across the whole STLC, including testing patterns and architectures (e.g., Page Object Model, fixtures and factories, data-driven testing) and end-to-end test design strategies.</li> <li>API testing expertise with Postman and/or REST-assured across RESTful and event-driven interfaces.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, Xray, or equivalent).</li> <li>Practical experience testing microservice architectures, including service isolation strategies.</li> <li>Comfortable working within Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, refinement, design reviews) and collaborating directly with product owners and developers.</li> <li>Ability to test third-party integration points and design robust strategies around external dependencies.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to write clear, reproducible, and well-prioritized bug reports.</li> <li>Experience mentoring or coaching engineers on testing practices and quality ownership.</li> <li>Familiarity with current AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) and sound judgment on where AI fits in the testing workflow, accelerating delivery without compromising rigor or ownership.</li> <li>A proactive, detail-oriented mindset that thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.</li> <li>Bilingual English/Spanish (written and verbal).</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Nice to have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in payroll, fintech, or other compliance-heavy domains.</li> <li>Understanding of contract testing concepts and tools.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Exposure to security and privacy testing (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2 readiness).</li> <li>Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter, Gatling).</li> <li>Experience with observability or production monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, Sentry, or equivalent).</li> <li>Comfort working in distributed, asynchronous teams across multiple time zones.</li> <li>Familiarity with Jenkins configuration and pipeline authoring.</li> </ul>
