This team owns the first crucial step in the booking funnel and focuses on providing a fast and intuitive user experience to our customers in 40+ countries worldwide.</span></p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="3171"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">As a Search team, our goal is to simplify the user experience and provide enough information — without overwhelming the user — to help customers find their perfect trip easily. We achieve this by analyzing anonymous behavior data and conducting regular user research, ensuring we focus on good solutions for real user issues. Looking ahead, we aim to make even greater use of our big data to enhance the user experience with relevant statistics and insights at the right moment in the journey.</span></p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="3666"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">You'd join an autonomous, cross-functional squad — a Product Owner, backend and frontend engineers, plus data &amp; UX partners and principal engineers who've built this engine at scale. This is the team for you!</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Write SOLID, maintainable, flexible, testable, and scalable code</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Design components and integrations within team scope, considering scalability, maintainability, and reliability</span></li> <li class="p2" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lead adoption of better engineering practices and adapt workflows for team efficiency</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prioritise and plan tech debt pay-down with the team; drive strategies to reduce recurring debt</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ensure team code is observable and design monitoring strategies for new components</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support our CI/CD environment and produce a positive impact with each release</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support our agile, flexible, team-oriented development to bring the search product to the next level</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 24pt;"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">About You</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;" data-renderer-start-pos="6523"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant industry experience</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">7+ years of commercial experience as a Java Engineer</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong experience with Java/JVM-based frameworks such as Micronaut or Spring Boot</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Solution-oriented attitude with a focus on materializing the business vision through technical means</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with k8s and AWS</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with database management systems such as MySQL or similar relational databases</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Solid experience with distributed messaging systems (Kafka or others)</span></li> </ul> <p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Nice to Have:</span></p> <ul> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with OpenSearch / Elasticsearch</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with Redis and Terraform</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with CI/CD best practices (unit and integration testing, GitLab CI)</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience working with scalable systems handling large volumes of requests/data</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">We recognize that everyone carries a unique set of valuable skills and experiences.
