<p>Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our humanoid robot is designed for commercial tasks and the home. We are based in San Jose and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It’s time to build.</p> <p>We're looking for a backend engineer to build the services and infrastructure behind Figure's consumer mobile application, including auth, payments, and tooling.</p> <p>You'll own systems end to end, from identity and billing to delivery pipelines, internal dashboards, and the cloud platform they run on.</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU'LL DO</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and build the core auth and identity service, including KYC integration.</li> <li>Build payments and billing infrastructure: payouts, transactions, disputes, and reconciliation.</li> <li>Own the media ingestion and delivery pipeline for high-volume data ingestion.</li> <li>Own the cloud platform: environments, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and cost.</li> <li>Ship the notification system across push, SMS, and email.</li> <li>Build the web interface and dashboards that give the business visibility into tasks, supply, and quality.</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years building production backend systems at scale.</li> <li>Strong distributed systems fundamentals: APIs, queues, storage, and event-driven architecture.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with payments, billing, or fintech infrastructure.</li> <li>Hands-on infrastructure experience: AWS or GCP, Terraform or similar, containers, and CI/CD.</li> <li>Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar.</li> <li>Experience shipping systems that move real money for real users, with the reliability bar that implies.</li> </ul> <p><strong>NICE TO HAVE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Marketplace or gig platform experience (Uber, TaskRabbit, DoorDash, or similar).</li> <li>Fintech background (Square, Stripe, DailyPay, or similar).</li> <li>Experience with media storage and processing pipelines at scale.</li> <li>Experience as the first or only infrastructure owner on a small team.</li> </ul> <p>The US <strong>base</strong> salary range for this full-time position is between $200,000 - $400,000 annually.</p> <p>The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.</p>
