Ditto is an AI-driven dating service that matches college students via a conversational onboarding and schedules weekly in-person dates.
ABOUT DITTO: Ditto is reimagining how people meet — starting with dating. We’re building the first fully agentic social platform where AI does the heavy lifting: understanding your preferences, finding compatible matches, and even setting up real-life dates. Our cofounders dropped out of UC Berkeley in their freshman year to build this vision. Since then, Ditto has gone viral across campuses, set up tens of thousands of real dates, and attracted funding from Google and top-tier VCs, along with brilliant engineers and researchers from MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, and DeepMind. Dating is just the beginning, we are gonna disrupt the entire social scene. If that sounds interesting, come talk to us. ABOUT THE ROLE We’re hiring our founding Head of Product to lead product strategy and development for the world’s first agentic dating platform. This is a highly hands-on leadership role where you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founders and AI engineering team to shape how our matchmaking agents think, talk, and make decisions. You’ll define the product philosophy, experimentation culture, and systems that power the next generation of AI-driven social experiences. Not a roadmap management job, this is a 0→1 builder role where you will: - invent new product surfaces - design how AI agents reason and interact with users - run fast experiments with real users - define the core metrics that drive product decisions In short, your fingerprints will be on the core DNA of the company. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: - Own the product vision - Define and lead the product strategy for Ditto’s agentic dating platform and broader social ecosystem. - Collaborate closely with the founders to shape long-term product vision, roadmap, and prioritization. - Build 0→1 systems - Own the end-to-end lifecycle of new features and products from hypothesis and concept to launch and iteration. - Turn ambiguous ideas into shipped products quickly through clear product specifications, prototypes, and execution plans. - Shape AI behavior - Work directly with engineering and AI teams to design experiences that combine user psychology, structured data, and AI reasoning to design how agents: - reason about compatibility - talk to users - make decisions - coordinate real-world outcomes - Run tight experimentation loops - Build a rigorous experimentation culture by proposing hypotheses, defining metrics, running A/B tests, and iterating weekly. - Develop dashboards and metrics that track retention, engagement, and real-world success. - Create strong communication artifacts including PRDs, product narratives, prototypes, and experiment summaries. - Obsess over users - Conduct user research, interviews, and city-level feedback loops with high-intent users. - Understand what actually leads to great dates and real relationships, not just engagement metrics. - Turn data into decisions - Translate qualitative insights and quantitative signals into product improvements that drive retention, delight, and real-life connections. - Run rapid product iterations through A/B testing, AI evaluations, and user feedback loops. - Analyze funnels, retention, and behavioral signals to identify product-market fit and guide roadmap decisions. YOUR BACKGROUND LOOKS SOMETHING LIKE: - 0 → 1 Product Builder - Proven experience building consumer products from scratch in early-stage startups, incubators, or new product teams - Strong track record of turning ambiguous ideas into shipped features and measurable user outcomes - Product Leadership Experience - 5+ years of product experience, ideally including leadership or ownership of major product areas - Background in consumer, marketplace, social, or network-based platforms - Technical Fluency - Strong understanding of engineering constraints and technical systems - Ability to collaborate deeply with engineering and AI teams - Familiarity with AI/LLM product development is strongly preferred - Data-Driven Operator - Experienced in experimentation frameworks, KPI definition, funnel analysis, and product analytics - Comfortable working with dashboards, SQL, or structured product data - User-Obsessed Product Thinker - Strong instincts for user psychology and behavior-driven design - Ability to design experiences that feel intuitive, personal, and emotionally engaging - Startup Mindset - Thrives in ambiguity and fast iteration cycles - Highly collaborative, low ego, and energized by working on a small, intense founding team - Comfortable moving quickly from idea to production Location: SF/Emeryville
