Nabla provides an AI clinical copilot that transcribes consultations, pseudonymizes and processes audio with domain-tuned LLMs to generate editable EHR notes, plus a women’s-health messaging app integrating health data.
ABOUT NABLA We are a team of entrepreneurs, clinicians and engineers committed to bringing back joy to the practice of medicine. Together with a community of clinician innovators, we’ve harnessed the best of machine learning science to develop Nabla: the leading AI assistant that’s restoring the human connection at the heart of healthcare. By streamlining clinical documentation, Nabla is helping clinicians focus on what matters most - patient care. Today, over 100,000+ clinicians across 130+ healthcare organizations trust Nabla to support how they deliver care every day. We’re at the start of an ambitious journey: Ambient listening, dictation, coding, and command capabilities are all converging into a proactive assistant that intuitively streamlines clinical and financial workflows. Backed by a recent $70M Series C, we’re hiring to build the next generation of clinical AI and improve the lives of clinicians and patients everywhere. This is a great time to join us! DESIGN AT NABLA The Nabla design team works alongside product and engineering to define and deliver high-impact tools that delight clinicians and solve their most pressing pain points. Our team is responsible for discovering, understanding, and framing user needs, crafting seamless end-to-end experiences, iterating on feedback, and maintaining a scalable internal design system. ABOUT THE ROLE The Product Designer will own the end-to-end experience clinicians have with Nabla — from the first minute of onboarding through the hundreds of encounters they document with us afterwards. The goal is a product experience that is intentional, effortless in the exam room, and measurably better at giving clinicians their time back. Nabla is a medical AI assistant for medical staff, automating their administrative tasks so they can focus on their patients, not paperwork. The core product works and is used daily by tens of thousands of clinicians. What still needs to be built is everything around it: the discovery practice, the end-to-end flows across web and mobile, the patterns for surfacing AI output that clinicians can trust and correct, the admin and configuration surfaces for health systems, and a design system that scales past its current state. This is a hands-on, high-output role. We need someone who ships weekly, sits with users, and turns messy clinical reality into interfaces that feel obvious. Nabla serves two distinct audiences, and the product has to work for both: - Self-serve clinicians, who discover, activate, and adopt Nabla largely on their own. Here the interface carries the entire relationship — it has to teach itself, earn trust fast, and hold up with zero training. - Mid-market and enterprise health systems, deployed through IT, clinical informatics, and CSMs, with EHR integrations, admin controls, templating, and rollout constraints. Here the design work extends well beyond the clinician: admins, champions, and implementation teams are users too. You'll design each surface knowing which audience leads. On top of this, healthtech is a highly regulated industry with demanding customers, and our users are working in front of patients: every interaction must meet a high bar for accuracy, safety, privacy, and professionalism, while still feeling fast and human to a clinician who is already behind schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES DISCOVERY AND FRAMING - Meet users during on-sites and shadow real clinical workflows to gather feedback and test ideas - Partner with product managers to discover and validate opportunities with customers, define requirements, and translate research insights into impactful, well-crafted designs - Frame problems clearly before designing solutions, separating what clinicians say they want from what the workflow actually needs - Advocate for user needs throughout the product lifecycle and contribute to strategic decision-making at both the product and executive levels END-TO-END PRODUCT DESIGN - Lead the end-to-end design process, from ideation to execution, ensuring alignment with business goals - Thrive in a rapid-iteration environment, shipping high-quality work quickly and keeping feedback loops tight between design and engineering - Design for both web and mobile, with a strong understanding of responsive behavior and platform constraints - Design the patterns that make AI output usable and trustworthy: how generated content is presented, reviewed, corrected, and attributed - Follow work through implementation, reviewing builds and holding the quality bar to what was designed DESIGN SYSTEM AND CRAFT - Structure, maintain, and evolve Nabla's internal design system, ensuring consistency and scalability in design practices - Raise the craft bar across the product: sweat the details and take pride in shipping polished, refined interfaces - Keep accessibility and clinical safety considerations built into components rather than bolted on CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION - Work with product managers, engineers, Clinical, Brand, and go-to-market teams to deliver cohesive, user-centric products - Communicate design decisions clearly, from concept to implementation, across multidisciplinary teams - Partner with Clinical and Compliance so that what ships holds up in a regulated environment TOOLING AND WAYS OF WORKING - Use AI and prototyping tools as a core part of daily work (Figma, Cursor, Claude Code, Paper, and whatever comes next) to explore faster and get closer to real, working software - Contribute to the team's process, documentation, and rituals as the design team scales WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - 5+ years of experience designing product experiences at a tech or product-driven company - A strong portfolio showcasing user-centric solutions that make complex business logic easy to use for the end user - Experience designing for both web and mobile, with a strong understanding of responsive behavior and platform constraints -
