Andromeda Robotics develops Abi, a humanoid companion robot using AI/ML and animator-designed expressive behaviors to provide customizable social, cognitive, and daily-assist support for aged care and pediatric hospital settings.
The Bigger Picture At Andromeda, we're building the social intelligence layer for humanoid robots - technology that allows robots to understand people, build relationships and become a meaningful part of everyday life. Our first robot, Abi, is already doing this in aged care and healthcare, where she brings conversation, companionship and engagement to people every day. Now we're scaling from early deployments into a platform that can operate across thousands of real-world environments. We're looking for individuals who want to tackle hard problems across robotics and AI, and help define what it means for robots to live and interact alongside people. Our Values Empathy – Kindness and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. Play – Play sharpens focus. It keeps us curious, fast and obsessed with the craft. Never Settle – A relentless ambition, bias toward action, and uncomfortable levels of curiosity. Tenacity – Tenacious under pressure, we assume chaos and stay in motion to adapt and progress. Unity – Different minds. Shared mission. No passengers. The Role As our Network & IT Systems Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of Andromeda's internal technology and on-prem infrastructure - owning the systems, automation and day-to-day support that keep our people productive and our infrastructure reliable. We don't have an external MSP or a separate helpdesk team. You will own issues end-to-end: from helping someone whose laptop won't connect to Wi-Fi, through to diagnosing a Linux server, recovering an on-prem service or fixing the underlying system so the problem doesn't happen again. This is a hands-on role. You'll provision laptops, manage accounts, respond to support requests and troubleshoot everyday issues. But your job is not simply to work through tickets. You will also design better systems, automate repetitive work, improve observability and build the foundations that allow Andromeda to scale without its IT workload scaling at the same rate. You will own employee devices, identity, office networking, SaaS administration, on-prem infrastructure and the automation layer that ties them together. What You'll Own End-User Support * Own IT support across the company, from initial request through to resolution. * Engineer seamless, self-service experiences for the company. Minimize manual intervention by building automated workflows and reliable tooling that reduce IT friction * Diagnose and resolve more complex problems without relying on an external MSP. * Identify recurring issues and address their underlying causes. * Establish lightweight support processes that remain responsive as the company grows. * Use agents and LLMs to diagnose, fix and prevent common issues. Device Management and Provisioning * Own our Windows, macOS and Linux device fleet from procurement through to decommissioning. * Provision, configure, patch, repair, wipe and re-image laptops and computers. * Own and automate our global fleet lifecycle for macOS and Linux, building secure, compliant, and unified environments for our engineering and customer success teams. * Manage device configuration, software installation, disk encryption, security policies and compliance through MDM and supporting tooling. * Maintain standard configurations and reduce drift between machines. * Maintain an accurate inventory of devices, ownership, configuration and lifecycle state. Identity and SaaS * Own and evolve Google Workspace as our core identity and collaboration platform. * Manage user lifecycle, groups, permissions, MFA, access policies and security configuration. * Automate onboarding, offboarding and access-management workflows. * Own and evolve our Identity and Access Management (IAM) framework. Scale our identity platform by automating onboarding, offboarding, and access workflows, enforcing least-privilege policies and integrating SaaS tools via APIs to eliminate operational toil and manual lifecycle management. * Improve licence governance and remove redundant or unused access. * Maintain secure break-glass and recovery procedures. On-Prem Infrastructure * Operate and maintain the servers, computers, storage and network infrastructure that support Andromeda's internal and on-prem services. * Administer Linux systems, containers and supporting services. * Monitor availability, performance, capacity, storage and infrastructure health. * Plan and perform system maintenance, upgrades, patching and hardware replacement. * Maintain backups and regularly verify that systems can be recovered. * Maintain known-good configurations, operational documentation and recovery procedures. Networking and Office Infrastructure * Own office Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP and physical connectivity. * Design appropriate separation between corporate, engineering, production, robot and guest networks. * Monitor network health and diagnose connectivity, interference, latency and performance problems. * Maintain secure remote access to infrastructure. * Assume ownership of the uptime and expansion of our internal systems and audiovisual environments. You will architect robust, high-speed network frameworks for office and production spaces that power both day-to-day business. * Coordinate specialist vendors where necessary while remaining the internal technical owner. Reliability and Deployment Operations * Build monitoring, dashboards, logging, alerting and health checks for critical infrastructure. * Respond to outages and coordinate recovery. * Maintain runbooks for common incidents and failure modes. * Identify recurring failures and implement preventative improvements. * Deploy application releases to on-prem infrastructure using established procedures. * Roll services forward or back to known-good versions when required. * Verify system health after deployments and escalate application-specific problems to the responsible engineering team. * Improve the safety, repeatability and auditability of deployment
