<p class="_10dfkk10">Figure is an AI robotics company building general-purpose humanoid robots with human-level intelligence. Our robots are engineered to perform a wide range of tasks in commercial and industrial environments. We are based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It's time to build.</p> <p>We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to own softgoods and plastic parts.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design parts in 3D CAD that satisfy load conditions, industrial design form factor, and durability requirements.</li> <li>Work closely with industrial designer to execute on the vision and form of the system</li> <li>Own the industrial design robot buck, keep up to date with latest files from our engineers and communicate with suppliers</li> <li>Design injection molded plastic parts with Class A surfaces</li> <li>Generate accurate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5.</li> <li>Inspect first articles, build test stands, and continuously support part on robot development platforms. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements: </strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering</li> <li>Experience working with industrial design departments</li> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar field</li> <li>Expert in using 3D CAD software to design parts with complex geometry</li> <li>Experience with high volume manufacturing processes specifically injection molding and die cutting</li> <li>Experience designing and building prototypes</li> <li>Ability to write and maintain clean documentation for design processes. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Experienced with simulation and analysis methodology (FEA, MATLAB etc.)</li> <li>Experience working with contract manufacturers.</li> <li>Experience with fabric manufacturing</li> <li>CATIA V6 Experience</li> </ul> <p>The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $120,000 - $180,000 annually.</p> <p>The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended. </p>
