<p>Our client is a leading European online car marketplace, serving over 30 million monthly users across 18 countries. As a Lead DevOps Engineer – AWS Migration & Security, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing the platform that powers their business — migrating core services to AWS and strengthening the security posture that protects their customers and data at scale.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan and execute the migration of existing services to AWS, with a focus on ECS, RDS, and AWS networking (VPC, subnets, security groups, load balancing)</li> <li>Identify, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities; apply security fixes and patches across infrastructure and application layers</li> <li>Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible</li> <li>Contribute hands-on application development and code changes in PHP and/or Python to support migration and security work</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to coordinate migration cutovers with minimal disruption</li> <li>Document migration runbooks, infrastructure changes, and security remediation work</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>AWS certification: Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or AWS Certified Developer, backed by proven hands-on experience with AWS in production environments — particularly ECS, RDS, and networking; multi-account experience is a plus</li> <li>Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform; working experience with Ansible</li> <li>Solid software development experience in PHP, Python, or TypeScript, with the ability to read, modify, and ship production code</li> <li>Experience with cloud migration projects (lift-and-shift and/or re-platforming)</li> <li>Practical security experience: vulnerability assessment, patching, hardening, and remediation</li> <li>Comfort working across teams and codebases in a cross-functional setting</li> <li style="font-style: italic;"><em>Availability to work Toronto timezone (EST/EDT) business hours</em></li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with containerization and Docker in production</li> <li>CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance</li> <li>Familiarity with compliance or security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, CIS benchmarks)</li> <li>Prior experience in contract or consulting engagements with defined deliverables</li> </ul> <p> </p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>We offer*:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Flexible working format - remote, office-based or flexible</li> <li>A competitive salary and good compensation package</li> <li>Personalized career growth</li> <li>Professional development tools (mentorship program, tech talks and trainings, centers of excellence, and more)</li> <li>Active tech communities with regular knowledge sharing</li> <li>Education reimbursement</li> <li>Memorable anniversary presents</li> <li>Corporate events and team buildings</li> <li>Other location-specific benefits</li> </ul> <p>*not applicable for freelancers</p></div>
