Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news.</p> <p> </p></div><p><strong>Background</strong><br>We’re looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of the Growth & Data product roadmap, ensure alignment between business goals and user needs, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, high-quality digital products. As the bridge between stakeholders and development teams, you’ll help shape product vision into actionable stories and features that deliver real value.<br><br><strong>Who you are</strong><br>The Growth & Data Product Manager is the nexus of the digital organization – strategically aligning and driving teams forward to deliver value for TEGNA and for our end users. You are data-obsessed and are constantly looking for ways to turn data insights into high value outcomes. You have a bias for action, and you’re comfortable making decisions with limited information. You’re a natural translator, skilled at turning complexity into clarity—both for users and development teams. You thrive in cross-functional teams and have the collaboration chops to bring people together and align around a shared vision. You understand agile principles and love working iteratively, using data and feedback to guide your decisions. You’re organized, pragmatic, and focused on delivering real outcomes—not just features. Moreover, you are motivated and inspired by TEGNA’s mission to connect and service local communities everywhere. <br><br><strong>Scope of Responsibility </strong><br>Lead high functioning lean full-stack product teams (product, design, copy, engineering, QA) to deliver best in class Growth & Data products. Develop and maintain a robust and transparent product backlog. Create epics and user stories that align with Product strategy and vision. Partner with Product Leadership to plan and execute roadmap goals by facilitating agile scrum ceremonies, removing obstacles and ultimately delivering quality products on time and on budget. Own and improve all processes to drive value, quality and team velocity. Document and effectively communicate risks or impediments that hinder team progress. Oversee initiative execution by managing sprints and timelines and leading delivery process.</p> <p><strong>Top Key Activities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Backlog Ownership: Own and prioritize the Growth & Data product backlog to ensure the team always works on the most valuable features.</li> <li>Requirement Gathering & Refinement: Translate business needs, customer feedback, and market trends into clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.</li> <li>Sprint Planning & Delivery: Work closely with designers, engineers, and QA during sprint cycles to ensure smooth delivery, clarity of scope, and fast decision-making.</li> <li>Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact between product teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of priorities, expectations, and progress.</li> <li>Customer Focus: Champion the voice of the customer in all product decisions, ensuring we build intuitive and valuable experiences.</li> <li>Strategy & Roadmap Definition: Contribute to Growth & Data strategy and roadmapping in collaboration with Product and Marketing Leadership.</li> <li>Experimentation & A/B Testing: Define, execute, and analyze product experiments (e.g., A/B tests) to validate hypotheses and make data-informed decisions that drive business growth.</li> <li>Continuous Improvement: Analyze product performance, gather user feedback, and iterate on features to continuously improve user experience and business outcomes.</li> <li>Communications: Leads core team and stakeholder communications. E.g., dependencies, launches, setbacks, learnings, tradeoff decisions, etc.</li> <li>Team output: Leverages team velocity and capacity planning to continually improve product delivery</li> </ul> <p><strong>Domain Acumen </strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience supporting tools and products that improve the efficacy and efficiency of marketing and ad sales investments/strategies.</li> <li>Hands on or practical knowledge of consumer data/engagement platforms, CRM’s, mobile measurement platforms and data visualization tools.</li> <li>Experience with A/B testing frameworks, methodologies, and tools to optimize product features and user experiences.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with product analytics tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and derive insights for product optimization.</li> <li>Demonstrated proficiency turning data into actionable insights leveraging KPIs such as DAUs/MAUs, LTV (Lifetime Value), CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), user retention and churn.</li> <li>Practical knowledge of user experience, data, and product strategy in digital contexts</li> <li>Can speak the language of dev/design/QA with a topical understanding of digital technology stacks and tools</li> <li>Ability to traverse, test and recommend emerging digital solutions to improve team performance</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Professional Traits and Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Thrives in fast-paced environments</li> <li>Works collaboratively across all consumer domains, business partners</li> <li>Strong communicator (written & verbal) with active listening skills</li> <li>Supports and facilitates healthy team dynamics</li> <li>Professional and reflects TEGNA values</li> <li>Strong planning and organizational skills</li> <li>Proactive</li> <li>Ability to effectively negotiate</li> <li>Ability to say No (when appropriate)</li> <li>Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under p
