<p>Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our humanoid robot, Figure 03, is designed for commercial tasks and the home. We are based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It's time to build.</p> <p>We're looking for an Android lead to own Figure's consumer Android app end to end. The app pairs with proprietary hardware and will ingest high volumes of data.</p> <p>You'll be the founding Android engineer. You set the technical direction for the platform, ship the app, and grow the team behind it.</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU'LL DO</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own the Android app end to end, from architecture to Google Play release.</li> <li>Build and ship a consumer-grade client with best-in-class polish and performance.</li> <li>Own core app surfaces: onboarding, capture, tasks, earnings, and notifications.</li> <li>Set Android architecture, coding standards, and review practices for the engineers who follow.</li> <li>Instrument the app for analytics, experimentation, and crash-free releases.</li> <li>Work closely with the iOS lead, hardware integration, and backend engineers to ship complete features.</li> <li>Drive fast, high-quality release cycles through Google Play, including staged rollouts.</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR</strong></p> <ul> <li>6+ years building and shipping consumer Android apps at scale.</li> <li>Expert in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.</li> <li>Deep experience with CameraX or Camera2, media pipelines, and offline-first sync.</li> <li>Experience as the lead or senior-most engineer on a mobile platform.</li> <li>Strong product sense, with performance discipline across a fragmented device matrix.</li> <li>Comfortable owning a platform end to end on a small, fast-moving team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>NICE TO HAVE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience at top consumer app companies (Snapchat, Instagram, Uber, or similar).</li> <li>Bluetooth (BLE) or connected-device integration experience.</li> <li>Cross-platform experience (React Native, Flutter, or KMP).</li> </ul> <p>The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $200,000 - $400,000 annually. The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended. </p>
