Grow Therapy is a mental-health platform that enables a 26,000-provider network to offer insured virtual and in-person therapy and psychiatric services.
Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $328Mm in funding, including our Series D, at a $3B valuation from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, Menlo Ventures, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and others. The Opportunity: We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead Grow's newly formed AI Enablement Tech Team, the central engine behind the company's AI strategy. Alongside a dedicated PM, you'll own the company-wide AI roadmap, build the foundational infrastructure every function depends on, and drive end-to-end delivery of our most complex AI use cases. You'll lead a executive-aligned engineering team and run an ongoing cross-functional working group with AI Champions across the organization. This is a rare opportunity to define how AI works at Grow, not just for engineering, but for the entire company. What You’ll Be Doing: - Own the technical strategy and execution of Grow's company-wide AI roadmap, sequencing infrastructure investments and use cases against company-level impact in close partnership with the PM - Build and operate core AI infrastructure: data pipelines, model access, embeddings, retrieval layers, and governance frameworks, with PHI compliance as a non-negotiable constraint - Architect and maintain the connector layer (MCPs, integrations, and APIs) that enables agentic workflows across every business function - Lead delivery of high-priority, complex AI use cases requiring close Product and Engineering collaboration (e.g. Grow LLM, AI-assisted care workflows) - Drive AI vendor governance: procurement decisions, contracts, and a cross-company tool registry that prevents redundant spend and ungoverned tooling You’ll Be a Good Fit If: - You have 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading engineering teams, including hands-on experience building AI/ML infrastructure, LLM-powered systems, or agentic workflows - You have strong technical depth in AI/ML infrastructure: you've built or operated pipelines, embedding systems, retrieval layers, or orchestration frameworks in production - You bring excellent cross-functional leadership: you're equally effective in a technical design review and a working group with clinical, legal, or business stakeholders - You operate with a founder's mindset: you bring structure to ambiguity, move fast, and build systems designed to scale beyond your direct involvement - You're a strong communicator who can translate technical decisions into clear business impact for senior leadership and non-technical partners Full Time Employee Benefits: - Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage. - Grow for Grow: No cost access to therapy through the Grow platform (available to US employees) - Financial Wellness: Retirement savings programs and equity opportunities to help you invest in your future. - Flexible Time Off, Paid Holidays & Winter Break: Flexible time off, company paid holidays (which vary by country), and a full company wide Winter Break to rest and recharge - Parental Leave: Up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave to support you and your growing family and a new child stipend. - Mental Health Mornings/Afternoons: Dedicated weekly flexible time for self care, whether that's therapy, exercise, journaling, time with family, or simply taking a break. - Wellness & Development Stipend: Annual stipend to support your personal wellbeing and professional growth, from fitness and education to books and learning resources. - Commuter Benefits: Pre tax commuter benefits to support teammates working from one of our hub locations. - Home Office & Meals: Support for your home workspace plus meal benefits, with offerings tailored to both remote and hub based employees. - Additional Perks: A variety of wellbeing benefits, including wellness memberships, virtual care, pet insurance discounts (where available), and global travel assistance. Research shows that some groups hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. If you’re excited about this role but don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply.
