The team delivers the electrical infrastructure that powers Valar's fuel manufacturing facilities — from utility interconnection through MV distribution, process area LV systems, and emergency power. You will work alongside I&C, mechanical, and nuclear safety engineers in a collaborative environment that demands technical precision and a strong safety culture, with the opportunity to contribute to some of the most technically interesting power distribution challenges in the advanced nuclear sector.</p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="none">The Role</span></strong> </p> <p>Valar Atomics is seeking an <em class="Highlight">Electric</em>al Engineer to support the design and delivery of MV/LV <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al <em class="Highlight">systems</em> for <em class="Highlight">nuclear</em> fuel manufacturing facilities. The role will contribute to <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al system design, power system studies, equipment selection, drawings, specifications, and field support while working closely with senior <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al engineers and multidisciplinary teams. This is an opportunity to work on first-of-a-kind <em class="Highlight">industrial</em> facilities and develop hands-on experience with complex <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al <em class="Highlight">systems</em> in the <em class="Highlight">nuclear</em> industry.</p> <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Develop and maintain <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al load lists and support power system studies including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, and harmonic analysis using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or equivalent.</li> <li>Prepare arc flash hazard analysis in accordance with IEEE 1584 and substation grounding calculations in accordance with IEEE 80.</li> <li>Assist with sizing and selection of transformers, cables, switchgear, bus <em class="Highlight">systems</em>, capacitor banks, UPS <em class="Highlight">systems</em>, and batteries.</li> <li>Develop and update single line diagrams for MV and LV distribution <em class="Highlight">systems</em> from the utility interface through MCCs and final distribution equipment.</li> <li>Prepare and maintain <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al equipment <em class="Highlight">layout</em>s, cable <em class="Highlight">schedules</em>, tray routing, and underground duct bank designs.</li> <li>Support specifications and data sheets for MV switchgear, LV switchboards, MCCs, distribution panelboards, transformers, bus ducts, VFDs, UPS <em class="Highlight">systems</em>, and standby generators.</li> <li>Support <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al area classification drawings and selection of equipment for hazardous areas in accordance with NEC/CEC 500 or IEC 60079 series.</li> <li>Assist with protection coordination studies, time-current coordination plots, relay settings, and selection of protection and metering equipment.</li> <li>Develop and review <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al drawings including relay panel arrangements, DC control schematics, MCC control wiring diagrams, and distribution system details.</li> <li>Support technical evaluations of <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al equipment and vendor bids; review vendor drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.</li> <li>Support <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al installation specifications and participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including insulation <em class="Highlight">testing</em>, continuity checks, relay secondary injection, and equipment energization.</li> <li>Coordinate with I&C engineers on motor, VFD, and <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al control interfaces and with civil and structural engineers on substation <em class="Highlight">layout</em>s, equipment foundations, cable routing, and penetrations.</li> <li>Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews, and other multidisciplinary engineering activities.</li> <li>Support resolution of technical questions from vendors, contractors, and field teams.</li> <li>Prepare engineering calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation under the direction of senior <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al engineers.</li> <li>Apply applicable <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al codes and standards to engineering designs and support the development of consistent <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al design practices.</li> </ul> <h3>Basic Qualifications</h3> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Bachelor's degree in <em class="Highlight">Electric</em>al Engineering.</li> <li>1+ years of <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al engineering experience, preferably in <em class="Highlight">industrial</em>, process, power generation, energy, or other complex facilities.</li> <li>Experience with MV/LV <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al distribution <em class="Highlight">systems</em> and fundamental <em class="Highlight">electric</em>al engineering principles.</li> <li>Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, EasyPow
