Our work depends on a TS/SCI level Cloud Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.</p> <p>HOW A CLOUD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT</p> <p>The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing/improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; providing customers technical support. The Cloud Engineer will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings.</p> <p>Specific Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Work with A&A Team to maintain security requirements for operation of systems</li> <li>Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc)</li> <li>Produce detailed documentation</li> <li>Maintain System in AWS environment using EC2, S3, Load Balancer, and RDS</li> <li>Automate and optimize service deployments</li> <li>Delivering a full-stack web application to production; identifying and resolving operational issues in same</li> <li>Actively participating in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e. meetings with customers)</li> <li>Executing design and implementation of application features, independently / unassisted, with minimal oversight</li> <li>Refactoring legacy application code for improved reliability and maintainability</li> <li>Mentoring junior developers</li> <li>Writing and reading unit tests; understanding code-quality analysis concepts</li> <li>Writing and debugging Javascript, Typescript, or closely-related language</li> <li>Developing applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design concepts</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience</li> <li>8+ years IT experience</li> <li>Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services</li> <li>Strong Troubleshooting skills</li> <li>Experience in automating tasks using scripted languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl</li> <li>Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology</li> <li>Familiarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools: GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus</li> <li>Extensive Typescript or Javascript background</li> <li>Angular frontend framework; UI/UX design</li> <li>Microservice-based backend architecture; integrating with COTS/FOSS software REST APIs</li> <li>Supporting a full-stack application in a PaaS environment</li> <li>CI/CD pipeline implementation, ideally with GitLab</li> <li>Creating and deploying containerized applications, ideally with Docker</li> <li>Designing/implementing container orchestration with Kubernetes</li> </ul> <p>Desired Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS/CLI</li> <li>Experience working with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, or Java)</li> <li>Experience with Go programming language</li> <li>Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development</li> <li>Database experience with a Postgres backend</li> <li>Strong communication skills</li> </ul> <p>Desired Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner</li> </ul> <p><strong>\Additional Information</strong></p> <ul> <li>All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.</li> <li>Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $140-$150k.
